Subject:
A factual account of Native American destruction via land grabs
This is an incredibly painful and revealing collection of Native Americans' land cessions. The detailed notes of the aggression, fraud and theft perpetrated by the US government and large corporations like the railways are disturbing at the very least. The thought of $10 per person and an outfit of clothing per child in exchange for land (with the government's military and legal representatives ready for enforcement) is appalling. This land extortion and fraud would not be legal today and was made legal solely due to the corruption and greed of white male founding fathers. As horrifying as the components of the land grabs by the US government were, we are very fortunate to have it documented based on facts and without bias. In here lies the truth and makes digging through the nearly thousand pages well worth it.
